The Gender and Public Policy Workshops Present Back to School: a Panel Discussion on Gender and Education Policy

We constantly hear about how girls are outperforming boys in school, but these gains are not translating into success later in life. Girls do better than boys in primary education, women outnumber men in post secondary education, and then are severely outnumbered on boards and in senior management. Is the education system built for women to excel in school but not as leaders?

Join us in hearing from a diverse panel of education policy experts and front-line workers in the K-12 school system. We will hear about a range of current issues in the school system such as single-sex curriculum, gender based violence in schools, and about the efforts to develop the first gender studies curriculum in the Ontario secondary school system.

This event will be moderated by Vasiliki Bednar, Action Canada Fellow and SPPG Alum 2010
