SPPG students comment on what Indigenous reconciliation means for millennials in the Toronto Star

March 22, 2016 | By |

Alexa Greig (MPP Candidate 2017), Benjamin Hanff (MPP-JD Candidate 2018), and Sophie Borwein (MPP Class of 2013) write that it is time for millennials to begin thinking seriously about the relationship they want to build with Indigenous communities.

Alexa, Benjamin, and Sophie, together with co-author Maripier Isabelle, are on the Organizing Committee for the 2016 Walter Gordon Symposium on Public Policy at the University of Toronto. The theme of this year’s Symposium is Restoring Respectful Relationships: Designing a Royal Proclamation of Reconciliation and will explore the policy behind reconciliation between Canada and Indigenous peoples in the aftermath of the Truth and Reconciliation Commission. The Walter Gordon Symposium is occurring on March 22 and March 23 at the University of Toronto.

Participation in the Walter Gordon Symposium is open to the public. Please find more details here: https://archive.munkschool.utoronto.ca/publicpolicy/walter-gordon-symposium-2016-restoring-respectful-relationships-designing-a-royal-proclamation-of-reconciliation/
