SPPG Class of 2016 students Emily Helfand-Green and Abdi Hersi’s “Public Sector Innovation Initiative” project has been selected to receive Graduate Professional Development funding by the School of Graduate Studies, University of Toronto.

The Innovation in Graduate Professional Development Fund is dedicated to the promotion and support of graduate professional development activities within and among graduate units at the University of Toronto.

The Public Sector Innovation Initiative (PSII) is a joint project between Master of Public Policy students at the School of Public Policy and Governance and Master of Global Affairs students at the Munk School of Global Affairs. PSII aims to operate as a space to explore and debate what the public sector of the future should look like, and how this vision can be achieved, through equipping students with an understanding of public sector transformation and the skills and confidence to act as change leaders in the public sector.

PSII’s first session is occurring this Friday, November 27 at the School of Public Policy and Governance. What it means to have an innovative public sector will be the topic of discussion.
