SPPG Fellow and Instructor, Bob Rae, appointed Companion of the Order of Canada

On this Canada Day, His Excellency the Right Honourable David Johnston, Governor General of Canada, announced that SPPG Senior Distinguished Fellow and teacher, Bob Rae, has been appointed Companion to the Order of Canada.

The Order of Canada, one of the country’s highest civilian honours, was established in 1967, during Canada’s centennial year, to recognize outstanding achievement, dedication to the community and service to the Nation. Bob Rae has been promoted from Officer to Companion of the Order “for his contributions to public life in Canada and for his enduring commitment to strengthening ties between Aboriginal and Non-Aboriginal people in our country.”
