Bio
Professor Haddow’s primary research fields are Canadian social, labour market, and economic development policy in a comparative context. Particularly interested in the implications of recent debates in the comparative political economy of industrial societies for the study of Canadian politics. Publications include Poverty Reform in Canada (author, 1993), Social Partnerships for Training (contributing co-editor, 1997); The Savage Years (co-author, 2000), and Partisanship, Globalization and Labour Market Policy (co-author, 2006); articles in The Canadian Journal of Political Science, Canadian Public Administration, The Journal of Canadian Studies and The International Journal of Canadian Studies, and about twenty other chapters in edited volumes. Co-investigator for an MCRI projects on municipal governance. Now undertaking a comparative study of the political economy of economic and social policy-making in Ontario and Quebec in the face of globalization.
