Joseph Heath is Associate Professor of Philosophy and Undergraduate Director and Associate Chair at the Department of Philosophy, and Executive Committee Member of the Centre for Ethics. Professor Heath’s research interests include social and political philosophy, moral philosophy, and distributive justice.

His academic books include Communicative Action and Rational Choice (MIT Press), and Following the Rules (Oxford University Press), while a selection from his popular books include The Efficient Society (Penguin), Filthy Lucre (HarperCollins), and with Andrew Potter, The Rebel Sell (HarperCollins). Professor Heath received his B.A. from McGill University, and his M.A. and Ph.D. from Northwestern University.
