November 23, 2016 | By Public Policy Admin |
This session identifies the main components of the political communications process and evaluates them in relation to the wider political and media environments in which they operate.
In particular, it will examine the professionalization of party communications including political marketing, advertising and public relations, as well as consider how these affect news coverage, the presentation of parties, leaders and policies. Finally, participants will analyze how these strategies attempt to build consent during a campaign and their impact on government communications.
