THE CANADIAN ORGANIZING COMMITTEE

The Canadian side of the Canada-UK colloquia is organized by an ad hoc committee comprising a chair, an expert advisor, and a coordinator from the Munk School of Global Affairs and Public Policy at the University of Toronto.

Dr. Mel Cappe, OC
Mel Cappe is the chair of the Advisory committee and Public Policy at Munk’s representative. He is a professor in the Munk School of Global Affairs & Public Policy at the University of Toronto. He is a former deputy minister in a number of federal Canadian departments, and was Clerk of the Privy Council and Secretary to the Cabinet from 1999 to 2002. From 2002 until 2006 he served as Canadian High Commissioner to the United Kingdom. From 2006 to 2011, he was president and CEO of the Institute for Research on Public Policy.

Professor Peter Loewen
Peter Loewen is the representative from the Munk School of Global Affairs & Public Policy at the University of Toronto. He is the Director of the Munk School of Global Affairs & Public Policy, director of the Policy, Elections, and Representation Lab, and a professor in the Department of Political Science.

Dr. Tina Park
Dr. Tina Park is the Executive Director of the Canadian Centre for the Responsibility to Protect at the University of Toronto and Research Fellow of the NATO Defense College in Rome. She serves as the Project Manager for the Canada-UK Colloquium.
