Bio
David Foot is Professor Emeritus of Economics. His primary interest in the numerous relationships between economics and demographics and the resulting implications for private and public policies is reflected in the publication of the bestselling books Boom Bust & Echo 2000: Profiting from the Demographic Shift in the New Millennium and Boom Bust & Echo: How to Profit from the Coming Demographic Shift (Stoddart 2000; Macfarlane, Walter & Ross, 1998, 1996), both of which he co-authored with Daniel Stoffman. Professor Foot was twice-awarded the University of Toronto undergraduate teaching award (in 1983 and 1992), and also received the Society for Teaching and Learning in Higher Education’s 3M Award for Teaching Excellence in 1992, an award which recognizes outstanding Canadian university educators. Professor Foot received his B.Ec from the University of Western Australia, and his M.A. and Ph.D. degrees from Harvard University.
