Join us for a special talk on Nov 16th by David Eaves – a technology and government expert from Harvard University – and a panel discussion with leading experts.
Canada is still in the early days of digital government. Like most countries, its capabilities are far behind those of leading private actors such as Google or Amazon. But what happens if governments are able to acquire these capabilities? If government were as good as Google or Amazon at knowing what we want, do, and think, is this a force for better public policy?
In Citizens, Surveillance, and the Public Good, David Eaves will explore how governments are using digital to transform themselves. He will also ask what the prospects are that governments can overcome the policy and governance challenges that emerge in a world of digital government. Eaves’ talks on technology and transparency are highly requested by businesss, student groups, and government agencies alike.
