SPPG’s student-led Policy innovation initiative sells out workshop exploring design thinking and its application to policy.

On October 26th, 2017, Pii filled a University College classroom with students and professionals in the fields of public policy, global affairs, and health policy.

The workshop started off with a introduction to and history of design thinking. Then, our guest speaker, Justin Kirkey, User Experience Lead at Synaptive Medical, shared his experiences in medtech and healthcare.

After learning about the opportunities design thinking presents for policy, participants engaged in a hands-on activity. The opportunity to gather user insights through live interviews and rapidly prototype was met with enthusiasm.
