Workshop Summary:
Participants will learn to manage data lists by creating tables, sorting, filtering, and using advanced functions. Using these skills, participants will be able to analyze relevant data and develop charts to summarize their findings. This is a beginner-level course meant to familiarize participants in beginner-to-intermediate level Excel uses necessary in the day-to-day work of policy analysis. Please note that students are to bring their own laptops for this session.
Instructor Bio:
Liza Kobrinsky graduated with a Masters from the University of Toronto’s School of Public Policy and Governance in 2014 and has gone on to work as an economist in multiple levels of government. She completed her undergraduate studies at the University of Toronto where she studied economics. Prior to her time in government, she worked in the Department of Economics study Centre, helping students with statistics, microeconomics and macroeconomics and has taught statistics prep courses at the undergraduate level.
NB:
1. Participants **must** bring their own laptops (MAC or PC) to this workshop.
2. This workshop will be held in CG-361, the third-floor seminar room at SPPG. SPPG does not have elevator service, so the seminar room may not be accessible for all. Those with accessibility concerns may request a refund upto 5pm on Oct. 25, 2017.
