SPPG Professor Pettinicchio’s recent awards and recognition

SPPG Professor David Pettinicchio work, ‘Elites, Policy, and Social Movements’ was recently published in Research in Political Sociology and chosen as an Outstanding Author Contribution. Further, Professor Pettinicchio received the 2017 Early Researcher Award of $150,000.

Professor Pettinicchio’s work, ‘ Elites, Policy, and Social Movements’, was recently published in Research in Political Sociology and was selected by the editorial team as an Outstanding Author Contribution in the 2017 Emerald Literati Network Awards for Excellence. The chapter “was chosen as a winner as it is one of the most impressive pieces of work the team has seen throughout 2016.”

He also received the 2017 Early Researcher Award of $150,000 from the Ontario Ministry of Research and Innovation for the project titled: Disability Employment Discrimination: An Audit Study.

Professor Pettinicchio is an Assistant Professor at the University of Toronto, joining the Department of Sociology in 2014 where he teaches courses in quantitative methods, social policy and political sociology. Professor Pettinicchio teaches PPG1005H: The Social Context of Policy-Making at the School of Public Policy & Governance.
