Social Policy and Supports in Canada

Participants will examine Canada’s social safety net, including recent reforms in Ontario and will look closely at Canada’s elaborate system of social supports. Considering the financing and provision of social services federally, provincially, and locally, participants will discuss topics such as old age security, income supports, disability support programs, unemployment insurance, workers’ compensation, child care, and other targeted programs and tax credits.
