SPPG Prof Phil Triadafilopoulos discusses Syrian Civil War & the Refugee Crisis at the Munk School of Global Affairs

SPPG Associate Director and Professor Phil Triadafilopoulos joined a discussion on The Syrian Civil War & The Refugee Crisis: Options for the EU, hosted at the Munk School of Global Affairs on Tuesday, November 17, 2015.

The Munk School of Global Affairs hosted a discussion with guest speaker the Hon. Arne Lietz, Member of the European Parliament for the German Sate Saxony-Anhalt, Professor Phil Triadafilopoulos (SPPG, UofT) and Professor Randall Hansen (Munk School). The talk discussed the European Union’s policy response to the Syrian conflict, as well as its attempts to deal with the refugee movements the conflict has given rise to. It outlined the internaparttional and internal constraints that have complicated EU decision-making on the issue, and develops policy options for a more effective EU response.

Professor Phil Triadafilopoulos is Associate Professor of Political Science at the University of Toronto. He is also the SPPG Associate Director. He teaches courses in public policy at the University of Toronto Scarborough (UTSC) and the School of Public Policy and Governance (SPPG), and conducts research in the areas of immigration and citizenship policy in Europe and North America.
