Professor Tony Dean releases new book on building better public services

In his new book “Building Better Public Services: A Guide for Practitioners,” SPPG Professor Tony Dean explores the challenges facing public services in the 21st century.

In addition to his teaching at the School of Public Policy and Governance, Tony Dean advises governments and international organizations on public service reform and building capacity for policy-making and delivery. From 2002 to 2008 he was Secretary of the Cabinet and Head of the Ontario Public Service. For the 2015/16 academic year Professor Dean is teaching ‘Priority Topics in Public Administration‘ at the School of Public Policy and Governance.

Building Better Public Services: A Guide for Practitioners explores the challenges facing public services in the 21st century, including the need for systemic cultural change, enhanced governance, evidence-informed policy and program design, and shared approaches to service delivery.
