The federal Truth and Reconciliation Commission (TRC) has challenged Canadians to engage in an ongoing process of reconciliation and the University of Toronto is answering the call.
University of Toronto President Meric Gertler and Vice-President and Provost Cheryl Regehr have struck a university-wide steering committee to review the TRC’s 94 calls to action and begin implementing those that are applicable to the University. Stephen Toope, director of the Munk School of Global Affairs, will co-chair the committee with Jonathan Hamilton-Diabo, director of aboriginal student services at First Nations House.
