The Politics of Emissions Reduction in Ontario will run in two parts. Today’s brief focuses on the recent history of emissions reduction in the province. Tomorrow’s brief focuses on effective initiatives for future progress.

The briefs were written by David McGown, who is executive director of the Canadian Business Coalition for Climate Policy.

Future Ontario 360 briefing memos and online discussions will set out additional research and analysis on a wide range of policy issues: from fiscal policy to homelessness, from innovation policy to urban Indigenous issues, and from tax policy to the future of work.

Thank you for your ongoing interest in, and support for, the Ontario 360 project. We look forward to engaging with Ontario policymakers, the University of Toronto community, stakeholders, and the broader public on the big policy issues that ought to animate the public debate surrounding the provincial election.
