Qiantao Zhang

Biography

Dr. Zhang received his B.Eng from Huazhong University of Science and Technology in Industrial Engineering (2006), his M.M from the Chinese Academy of Sciences in Management (2009), and his Ph.D from Cardiff University in Economic Geography (2016). Dr. Zhang’s main research interests include academic entrepreneurship, economic geography, innovation, and regional development. Prior to joining the IPL in January 2017, he worked as an Irish Research Council (IRC) Postdoc Research Fellow at Trinity Business School of Trinity College Dublin. Dr. Zhang has published peer-reviewed articles in leading academic journals such as Small Business Economics, Studies in Higher Education, Science and Public Policy, and Higher Education Policy. Currently, he is working on the Entrepreneurship Hub project which examines the entrepreneurial activities within the University of Toronto, and the Alumni Impact project which analyzes the economic, innovation, and social impact of University of Toronto’s alumni.
