Biography

Joseph Heath is Professor in the Department of Philosophy. His research interests include social and political philosophy, moral philosophy, and distributive justice. He is the author of several books, including Morality, Competition and the Firm (Oxford University Press), Communicative Action and Rational Choice (MIT Press), and Following the Rules (Oxford University Press), as well as a number of popular books, including The Efficient Society (Penguin), Filthy Lucre (HarperCollins), and with Andrew Potter, The Rebel Sell (HarperCollins). He is currently writing a book on the ethics of public administration. Professor Heath received his B.A. from McGill University, and his Ph.D. from Northwestern University. He is a Fellow of the Trudeau Foundation, as well as the Royal Society of Canada.
