Biography

Rudyard Griffiths is Chair of the Munk Debates, Canada’s premier international debate series, and the evidence-based policy initiative, Ontario 360. He is a co-founder of the Dominion Institute, a national charity created to promote history and civics education in Canadian high schools (which later became Historica Canada where he remained a board member until 2012). He is a founding director and member of the executive committee of the board of the Global Centre for Pluralism, an international initiative of the Aga Khan IV and the Government of Canada.

He is the author of the 2009 Globe and Mail book of the year, Who We Are: A Citizen’s Manifesto and has edited collections of essays on Canadian and international political and historical themes. He has been a columnist with the Toronto Star and the National Post as well as a television anchor on BNN, CTV News Channel and Bloomberg TV Canada.

As a Senior Fellow at the Munk School of Global Affairs and Public Policy, Rudyard will continue his deep engagement in public debate through his work on Ontario 360 and our program in public leadership.
