Scott Gilmore

Biography
Scott Gilmore founded Building Markets in 2004 and grew it into a multi-country organization focused on fighting poverty by connecting local entrepreneurs to global markets. Currently, Scott is writing for Macleans Magazine. He began his career as a Canadian diplomat, working extensively in Asia and with the United Nations peacekeeping mission in East Timor. Scott studied Commerce at the University of Alberta and International History at the London School of Economics. He is a Senior Fellow with the Munk School of Global Affairs and Public Policy and the Ashoka Foundation. Scott was appointed as a Governor of the International Development Research Centre in 2015.
