Biography

As Manager, Career Development & Alumni Engagement, Kate Dewasha brings over 15 years of career counselling, human resources, and recruiting experience to the Master of Public Policy program. She works closely with both students and employers, to allow students to reach their career objectives and goals. Kate supports MPP program students, providing guidance on a variety of topics, including resume/cover letter critiques, career planning, interview preparation, job search techniques and networking strategies.

Prior to joining the School, she joined the U of T family in 2007 as an Assistant Director within the Careers Team at the Rotman School of Management, advising MBA students on careers in both the private and public sector. Preceding her work at U of T, Kate worked as a Campus Recruiter and Human Resources Generalist in the technology sector, carrying out a broad range of HR initiatives at one of Canada’s fastest-growing technology companies. Her experience also includes work as a Career Consultant at Knightsbridge Human Capital Solutions and a brief stint scoring and screening resumes for the Ontario Public Service.

Kate holds a Bachelor’s degree in Psychology from the University of Western Ontario and a post-graduate certificate in Human Resources Management. She is currently pursuing her Master of Education (M.Ed.) in Higher Education, from the University of Toronto at the Ontario Institute for Studies in Education.
