Biography

Christopher Cochrane is an Associate Professor of Political Science at the University of Toronto and the University of Toronto Scarborough. He is the author of Left and Right: The Small World of Political Ideas (MQUP, 2015) and co-author, with Kelly Blidook and Rand Dyck, of Canadian Politics: Critical Approaches (Nelson, 2016). His research interests are Canadian politics, ideology, party competition, and computational social science. Cochrane and colleagues run the Linked Parliamentary Data Project (www.lipad.ca), which is digitizing and analyzing the written record of debate in the Canadian House of Commons. He is also working with Zane Schwartz to update and analyze the first comprehensive database of donations to federal and provincial candidates and parties (https://special.nationalpost.com/follow-the-money/about).
