Biography

Heather worked in international development in Canada and sub-Saharan Africa for over 5 years before finding herself back at the University of Toronto, where her journey in experiential learning began.  After graduating from International Development Studies (IDS) Co-op at our Scarborough campus, Heather worked in eSwatini (formerly Swaziland) where she managed Canadian volunteers and worked on a number of strategic planning projects for local women’s rights and economic empowerment organizations.  She moved back to Toronto and worked with Engineers Without Borders, engaging their Canadian community and working with their international Fellowship program in East and West Africa.  Heather returned to the IDS Co-op program, working with the Centre for Critical Development Studies and coordinating their 5-year experiential learning undergraduate program before making the move in the sphere of graduate studies where she now coordinates the internship program for the Masters of Global Affairs.
