Toronto, Canada – The Munk School of Global Affairs at the University of Toronto is pleased to announce the launch of Rouhani Meter (rouhanimeter.com). The project will monitor President Hassan Rouhani’s administrative performance for his first 100 days in office and beyond.
This is an academic effort lead by the University of Toronto’s Munk School of Global Affairs, and the interdisciplinary lab of ASL19, in collaboration with Small Media, that utilizes credible sources to monitor the progress of Iran’s seventh president. This Rouhani Meter project seeks the highest quality information to use in creating objective measures of presidential performance.
As part of the Munk School’s Global Dialogue on the Future of Iran initiative, this project grew out its Election Monitoring Centre during the lead up to the Iranian elections on June 14, 2013. Continuing the momentum of dialogue, and activity created during Iran’s post-election period, the Rouhani Meter project seeks to follow the promises made by Rouhani throughout his Presidential campaign and track their progress. Inspired by the Egyptian Morsi Meter, our project will monitor the extent to which he (and his administration) deliver on promises in four categories: foreign policy, economy, domestic policy, and socio-cultural matters.
Crucially Rouhani Meter is centered around global participation and building a constructive conversation around topics that matter to Iranians. As such we encourage as many individuals to visit the RouhaniMeter.com website to take part and share information that will make the Meter as accurate and objective as possible. Participate using the Rouhani Meter Community Watch options for input on promises you think have not been listed, or have not been recognized as “in action.’
