Named after the Galician journalist Francisco Cerecedo, the Cerecedo Prize is a journalistic award presented by the Association of European Journalists in Spain to writers who have distinguished themselves especially by their journalistic work. This year Munk School Professor Michael Ignatieff was the 29th recipient of the prize. The prestigious award was presented by the heir to the Spanish throne – Prince Felipe of Spain – at a dinner in Madrid, Spain, on November 20th. It celebrates Professor Ignatieff’s acclaimed writing on european nationalism and his work Blood and Belonging: Journeys into the New Nationalism.
