David Wolfe, co-director of the Innovation Policy Lab, was featured in the November 16 issue of Research Money, a newsletter that serves Canada’s science, technology, innovation and investment community.
In a recent report he co-authored with the Lab’s co-director Dan Breznitz and affiliated faculty Shiri Breznitz, Wolfe calls for Toronto to develop an effective ecosystem for financial technology (Fintech). “I’m cautiously optimistic...all the elements are there but we have to pull it all together,” Wolfe tells Research Money. While the report reveals that Canada is falling behind in the Fintech industry, Wolfe says looking to other financial hubs like the UK and US can go a long way in helping Canada reach its full potential.
