The Trudeau Centre for Peace, Conflict and Justice, the PCJ Society, and the UTSG Mosaic Fellows from the Mosaic Institute are partnering up to host a panel discussion on the process of admitting refugees into Canada. The discussion will aim to better understand the refugee intake process, for the purposes of dispelling common misconceptions, misinformation, and false statements surrounding the intake process.

This discussion comes at a crucial time, as the Government of Canada embarks on an ambitious (and controversial) plan to bring 25,000 Syrian refugees into Canada by March 1, 2016. Through a comprehensive discussion that provides institutional, structural, community, and individual level perspectives relating to the refugee intake process, the organizing committee hopes to provide participants with an exhaustive, correct, and clear understanding of how refugees are assessed and admitted into Canada.
