This year’s Health Innovation dentified the potential for a mobile app to diagnose post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD) among Syrian refugees in the Zaatari Refugee Camp. Greatly assisted by the Munk One students’ report, the Health Innovation Lab’s NGO partner received two grants from the Technology Fund of Northern Ireland to develop a software platform for support services by NGO staff working in conflict zones; and for coding a Mental Health PTSD assessment app, which will run on top of the platform. The team of Munk One students will be travelling with their Master of Global Affairs peer mentor to Northern Ireland this summer to continue their work as interns in the Initiative for Conflict Related Trauma.  They will use their research to help design a program for trans generational trauma victims. The prototype of the platform is being rolled out now for testing with several humanitarian NGOs.
