International Students

The MGA student body is comprised of 20% international students. The University of Toronto welcomes hundreds of international students into its undergraduate and graduate programs each year.

International students should consider the following before applying to the MGA program:

  • Does your degree meet the School of Graduate Studies requirements to apply to graduate school at UofT? Please check the SGS degree equivalency tool.
  • What are the options for funding your degree? International students qualify for MGA Scholarships. However, these scholarships are not guaranteed and vary in amount. International students are strongly encouraged to research funding opportunities in their country of residence to fund their degree as funding opportunities are limited for international students in Canada.
  • What type of student visa do you need to come to UofT? Please visit the Centre for International Experience website for more information on visas.

The Centre for International Experience at the University of Toronto provides student support for international students. Services include: visa information, housing information, transition advising, and English as a second language training.

Post-Graduation Work Permit

The post-graduation employment program provides graduating students with Canadian work experience. Most international students who graduate from the University of Toronto are eligible to apply for a post-graduation work permit with a validity period of up to 3 years – this depends on the length of the student’s program of study.
