Molly Thomas, a student in the Master of Global Affairs program, recently completed this documentary, Trapped in Iraq, for Context, a documentary news program.

The video is 26 minutes long and there is a viewer discretion warning because of disturbing violent images in the footage. As Thomas reports, “known in the west as ISIS, DAESH is the Arabic term to describe the militant group terrorizing millions across Iraq and Syria … at minimum, the U.N. says 12,000 Iraqis were killed; another 23,000 injured.”
