Public
Engagement

As Canadians and citizens from around the world grapple with the complexities living beyond the headlines, it’s apparent we’re all trying to figure out what’s going on in the world. Through research, analysis, commentary, debate and dialogue, the Munk School is a trusted hub for deep public engagement and a space for diverse voices in foreign policy and global affairs.

Sparking dynamic debate and providing thoughtful analysis, Munk School experts are routinely called on to comment in Canadian and global media. Seizing the opportunity to explore a new era in Canada’s foreign policy, the The Globe and Mail commissioned a pair of long-form essays by the Munk School’s Director, Prof. Stephen Toope, in the spring of 2016. With the first of two installments headlining the front page of the weekend edition, and the online story including rich storytelling content such as photo slide shows, video and data visualizations, Prof. Toope engaged a potential million and a half Canadians from coast to coast to coast with a nuanced consideration of Canada’s role on the world stage.
