Yazen Abed

Yazen Abed is a second-year student in the Master of Global Affairs (MGA) program. He holds an Honours Bachelor of Social Science (BSocSc) in Conflict Studies and Human Rights from the University of Ottawa. Following graduation, he worked for the Coalition for the International Criminal Court (CICC) as Middle East and North Africa (MENA) Program Associate.  During his first year of his MGA program, he worked full-time for DNAstack, a biomedical genomic research software company. His MGA internship was at Global Affairs Canada as a Junior Analyst on the Israel, West Bank and Gaza desk. At GEPL, Yazen is analyzing policies for the low-carbon transition.
