Bowen Yu is pursuing his doctoral degree in the Department of Political Science at the University of Toronto. His research interest include innovations in global governance, global environmental politics, and China’s role in global governance. In particular, he tries to explore how the alternative governance practices can affect dominating global governors’ perspectives on “good global governance”. He is currently a research assistant at the Environmental Governance Lab at the Munk School of Global Affairs and Public Policy. Bowen published several commentaries on China’s foreign policy and global governance in newspapers and magazines. He also has several research papers published in Chinese journals and as book chapters. He holds a BA from Northeast Normal University (PRC) and a MA in International Politics from Renmin University of China (PRC). His MA thesis was on G7, BRICS and leadership-building in global governance.
