Laura Tozer is an Assistant Professor at the University of Toronto Scarborough in the Department of Physical and Environmental Sciences. Her research focuses on the policies and politics driving energy transitions to achieve zero-carbon, resilient and equitable cities. Her work develops new understandings of climate change and urban sustainability governance and politics. Her research investigates (1) the planning and implementation of just, zero carbon and resilient transitions in cities, (2) the politics of transnational urban climate governance, and (3) pathways to mainstream sustainability solutions so that they become standard practice for urban development. Her work has been published in journals such as Nature Climate Change, Energy Policy, Geoforum, Environment and Planning C: Politics and Space, and Energy Research & Social Science.
