Maja Essebo: Machine Learning Through Storytelling

Maja Essebo, a visiting scholar from Lund University Centre for Sustainability Studies discusses how machine learning can provide a way for creating and telling stories. She elaborates on the use of myth; a naturalized belief which is used to legitimize/ naturalize environmental policy and practice. Through the incorporation of machine learning, we are able to look at two sectors: supervised (yes or no answers) and unsupervised (pattern establishments). Essebo’s study seeks to understand how machine learning can assist in comprehending politics to build reactions and further condense ideas and big narratives, allowing storytelling.
