Speaker Biographies:
Mr. Keith Kakehashi is Corporate Officer, HR Director Asia excl. Japan and HR Director Key Global HR Projects at NSG, one of the world largest glass manufacturers. After joining NSG in 1985, he took various management positions including his 8-year secondment to the U.S. representative office, firstly based in Lexington, KY and next in NYC, NY. He was also closely involved in the management integration mainly in HR areas after NSG acquired a UK listed company Pilkington in 2006. He is now chairing Group Inclusion & Diversity Steering Committee.
Ms. Miho Kurosaki worked as Head of Japan and Korea Research for Bloomberg NEF, energy and transport research division of Bloomberg. She leads analysis and research on topics including impact of the energy market liberalization. She served as a committee member of climate change advisory panel for Japan Ministry of Foreign Affairs. Prior to BNEF, she has developed Bloomberg’s Environmental, Social and Governance (ESG) analytics platform as senior ESG analyst. Miho holds an MSc in Environmental Technology from Imperial College London and a BA in Economics from Keio University.
Mr. Jonathan Miller is currently senior fellow at the Japan Institute of International Affairs and also deputy directory and senior fellow at the Ottawa-based MacDonald Laurier Institute. Miller additionally holds concurrent roles as distinguished fellow for the Asia Pacific Foundation of Canada, senior fellow at the Asian Forum Japan and senior fellow for the East-West Institute. He formerly served in the Canadian government – in the foreign ministry and security community – for nearly a decade. Miller regularly contributes articles, interviews and presentations on East Asian security matters.
Mr. Kenjiro Monji from the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Japan has served mainly in the areas of treaties, national security and cultural exchange. After holding posts as Deputy Director-General of the Treaties Bureau and as Director-General for International Affairs at the Ministry of Defence, he served as Ambassador to Iraq (2007), Director-General for Public Diplomacy at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs (2008), Ambassador to Qatar (2010) and Ambassador, Permanent Delegate of Japan to UNESCO (2013). He started his assignment as Ambassador of Japan to Canada and to the Delegation of Japan to the International Civil Aviation Organization in April 2015. Having been awarded the title of Sake Samurai by the Japan Sake Brewers Association Junior Council, Ambassador Monji also promotes Japanese sake overseas.
