Media Summary for Citizen Lab’s peer review of Amnesty investigation on NSO Group’s Pegasus spyware
On July 18, Citizen Lab released an independent peer review of an investigation of NSO Group’s Pegasus spyware, led by Amnesty International and journalism organization Forbidden Stories’ in partnership with 16 other media outlets. The Pegasus Project is built on a forensic examination of infections by Pegasus, which Citizen Lab identified in 2018 as being used in up to 45 countries.
Citizen Lab’s peer review for The Pegasus Project validated the methodology and provided additional support for findings on Pegasus’s operations.
