Diana Fu and Emile Dirks have co-published a chapter in a new book published by Brookings Press. The book, The Party Leads All: The Evolving Role of the Chinese Communist Party (Brookings Institution Press, 2022).
Their chapter, “The Party’s Struggle to Tame Civil Society,” examines the work of taming Chinese civil society in the lead up to the 20th Party Congress.
