Biography
Yoonjung Kang (Ph.D., MIT) is a Professor of Linguistics in the Department of Language Studies at UTSC and the Graduate Coordinator in the Department of Linguistics, University of Toronto. Her area of specialization is phonetics and phonology and its interface with sociolinguistics and psycholinguistics. Current research topics include loanword phonology, sound change, dialect variation and contact, heritage language phonetics and phonology, hyperspeech and sound change, speech rate and sound change, and sound symbolism of gender in first names. She is an associate editor of Phonology.
