The Asian Institute’s STEP Forward proposal was selected for funding from the Faculty of Arts & Science for the 2015-16 and 2016-17 academic years. The STEP Forward initiative aims to help students succeed in their undergraduate studies and ensure they are well prepared for life after university, by developing their capacity to connect their academic learning to their personal values, aspirations, and practical career planning.

We are excited to launch our ASIA Framework (Asian Studies in Action) in the 2015-16 academic year. The program will consist of two workshops in our gateway course, CAS200Y: Global Asia, and a career conference, Global Careers through Asia, in January 2016. To learn more about the workshops and conference, please visit our students page.

The Faculty of Arts and Science received 59 proposals from 30 units and programs for this program, and the AI’s proposal was selected by the committee and approved by the Dean for funding due to its high potential of benefit to students and degree of impact.

Please mark your calendars for the Global Careers through Asia Conference, to be held at the Munk School of Global Affairs on Friday, January 29, 2016.
