After completing an 18,000km – 65 day – motorcycle journey around China with my brother Colin last year it has been a tough transition back in to the world of documentary photography. The Middle Kingdom Ride (MKRIDE) was a blast, and there may be more work like this in the future, but my cameras were calling and I’ve spent the last few months hard at work for both my editorial andcorporateclients, as well ascontinuingmy B&W fine art work.

I’ve spent the last ten days or so in the UK lecturing and meeting with clients, which has been a wonderful collaboration of ideas and perspectives. I am excited about now returning to China and pursuing some new directions and projects. As China is a focus in much of the world I was invited on the BBC World Television show Impact Asia for a brief discussion of what it has been like documenting China for the better part of the last decade. It was an enjoyable experience but live television is intense. To view the BBC World Interview – Click HERE

I was also just recently in Brighton, UK for the opening of the “Intimate China” exhibition at the AM Gallery, my work was part of a group exhibition focusing on the diversity anduniquenessof China. The group exhibition included both international artists as well as native Chinese artists. To visit the AM Gallery website you can click HERE. The show will run until March 30th and it includes my Chinese Turkistan work.

There is a lot more interesting work in the pipe line and I will be sure to share that as it happens. Our MKRIDE television show, book and DVD are nearly sorted, as well various photography projects that will become public in the coming weeks and months. Until my next update, you can stay in touch on my Facebook page which I update daily.
